Lorenzo Villalobos

Your on-call tech guy. Fixes what's broken, builds what's next.

One senior operator: I fix what's broken, set up what's missing, and build the big stuff (websites, apps, whole systems) when you need it. No agencies, no runaround, no vendor juggling. You just get the person who handles it.

About

I'm Lorenzo Villalobos, a full-stack developer and the person businesses call when something technical needs to get done. A broken website, a messy inbox, a new app, servers to set up: I handle it end to end, whatever you're already using.

I've spent years working across just about every level of small business, from the front desk to the server room. That range is the point: I can look at a messy problem and pick the right fix, whether it's a quick one-hour cleanup or a full platform built from scratch. No layers, no ticket queue, no "that's not my department."

You work directly with me. No account managers, no handoffs, no jargon. Bilingual, remote, and honest about what's worth doing and what isn't.

Services

Two ways to work with me: big builds that need a conversation, and flat-price quick wins you can book on the spot. Same operator either way.

Case Studies

Real projects, real outcomes. The problem, what I built, and what changed.

15+
external systems unified into one platform
All Star Realty Property management · Alaska · est. 1987

Problem

A property manager running Alaska rentals since 1987 (200+ properties under management) on a static brochure site. Listings were updated by hand, there was no analytics, no lead capture, no resident tools, and no Spanish for a market that needs it. Operational data lived scattered across a dozen disconnected services with no single place for the owner to run it.

Approach

I rebuilt it as a server-rendered Astro platform and collapsed 15+ external systems (listings, CRM, AppFolio, an AI knowledge assistant answering only from a curated knowledge base, email, SMS, Google services, and five social channels) behind the firm’s own branding, so customers never see the plumbing. At the core sits a Directus data monolith the non-technical owner runs himself: listings, blog, resident knowledge, and analytics dashboards, with zero developer deploys. Shipped fully bilingual EN/ES and consolidated a duplicate legacy domain into one canonical SEO identity.

Result

One operator replaced a sprawl of disconnected tools with a single platform the business actually runs on. Owner, property, and tenant directories were imported from AppFolio behind a PII-gated AI assistant; a 152-file legacy admin dashboard was retired; a duplicate domain was 301-consolidated to recover split search authority; and content, listings, and marketing became owner self-service, no developer needed to run the business day to day.

Problem

Running an agency meant juggling separate tools for clients, projects, invoicing, code, and email, none of them talking to each other. On top of that, the agency's public site needed to be real proof of the work, not a brochure.

Approach

I built Orion, a self-hosted operations platform that ties the whole client lifecycle to one record: CRM and leads, GitHub-linked projects, PDF invoicing with recurring billing, an email client, calendar, contracts, finance, and infrastructure monitoring. Around 300 API endpoints over 80-plus database tables. On the front, vectorcr.com is a bilingual Astro site with a client portal and staff analytics behind single sign-on.

Result

One person now runs the agency's entire client lifecycle from a single self-hosted pane of glass, replacing what most teams pay for as four or more separate SaaS subscriptions: project tracking, CRM, invoicing, and a code-repo browser. Roughly 2,300 commits across the two codebases, and the public site scores a documented 100 across Lighthouse.

Problem

A small studio was paying for Slack, Teams, and Zoom, and wanted something better: its own communications platform, self-hosted on infrastructure it already runs, plus a way to give every client a private workspace with the founders always in the room, not a ticket queue.

Approach

I built a self-hosted chat and video platform from scratch: real-time messaging (workspaces, rooms, threads, DMs, reactions, presence, search) powered by Postgres itself instead of extra infrastructure, self-hosted LiveKit for voice, video, and recorded meetings, single sign-on, full English and Spanish, and an auto-updating desktop app for macOS and Linux. Access is locked down per room, so outside guests only ever see what they were invited to.

Result

In about six weeks it went from an empty repo to a live product at version 1.26, 437 commits and 200-plus reviewed changes, replacing three paid SaaS tools with one platform the team owns, and turning "you have a direct line to the people who own the work" into an actual product.

Problem

A Costa Rican natural-health founder had no web presence. She needed a bilingual storefront and blog to sell herbal tinctures and skincare to Spanish- and English-speaking customers, wanted to take orders without a heavy checkout, and needed to update her own catalog without touching code.

Approach

I shipped a fast, server-rendered storefront and blog backed by Supabase, with a passwordless magic-link admin so she manages her own products and posts. Orders route through per-product WhatsApp links (no clunky cart), and the whole funnel is instrumented with GA4 and Search Console. Fully bilingual, Spanish-first for the local market. Later I re-platformed the entire app to a zero-container edge deploy in a single day, keeping the design identical.

Result

Launched three days after the first commit and scored a perfect 100 on Lighthouse SEO and Best Practices. The founder runs her own catalog end to end, orders flow straight to WhatsApp with conversion tracking, and the site loads fast on the phones her customers actually use.

How It Works

No mystery, no runaround. Three steps from first hello to something you own.

01

Book a fit call

A 20-minute call. You tell me the problem; I tell you straight whether I'm the right person and how I'd approach it.

02

Fixed scope & quote

I come back with a clear plan, a fixed price, and a timeline. No open-ended hourly surprises.

03

I build & hand off

I do the work, keep you posted, and hand off something you own: documented, deployed, and running.
